Police Investigate Reported Sex Assault in Iowa City

IOWA CITY, Iowa - University of Iowa Police are investigating a reported sex assault that happened early Sunday morning at a party in Iowa City.

Iowa City Police are not releasing specific information about where it happened so they don't compromise the investigation.

Callers to Crimestoppers with information leading to a conviction may be eligible for a reward. Confidential victim advocacy services are available for all community members through the Rape Victim Advocacy Program's 24-hour crisis line at (319)-335-6000.

As for general crime prevention measures, UI Police are recommending that people walk in groups and use NITE Ride, Cambus and other reliable transportation services.
