Police Investigate Iowa City Bank Robbery

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Police are investigating a robbery at an Iowa City bank Wednesday.
According to reports, the US Bank branch at 1117 William St. was robbed at 1:37 p.m. Wednesday. The suspect handed the teller a note and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No weapon was displayed, and no one was hurt. The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot northbound toward Muscatine Avenue.
The suspect was described as a white male, about 40 years old, with shoulder length hair in a ponytail. He was wearing a gray NASCAR sweatshirt, blue baseball cap, blue jeans, and sunglasses, and was carrying a dark red, over-the-shoulder bag.
Iowa City police say anyone with information regarding this incident should call Detective David Gonzalez at 319-325-8146.
