DUBUQUE, Iowa - Police arrested the founder of a charity to help military members on fraud charges, saying his charity is a fraud.

Dubuque police say Christopher Simms, 50, of Durango, collected money for the charity "Forged by Fire", claiming the donations would help military members. Police say an investigation revealed Simms was using the money on himself, instead.

Simms is charged with 2nd degree fraudulent practice and 3rd degree theft. He faces seven years in prison if convicted.

Anyone who donated to 'Forged by Fire' should contact Dubuque Police.
