JOHNSON COUNTY, Iowa - A Tiffin man is accused of drunken driving and attempting to flee from police.

According to Johnson County Sheriff's Office criminal complaints, at 11:45 p.m. Thursday a deputy spotted 22-year-old Kurt C. Junge driving in Tiffin. Police said Junge was on Railroad Street when he went into the ditch and then back on the road. The deputy attempted to pull Junge over but he fled from the officer.

Police said Junge ran a stop sign and pulled over into his neighbor's driveway before taking of on foot. The deputy pursued Junge and subdued him with a Taser.

Junge showed signs of impairment and allegedly admitted to drinking and smoking marijuana earlier in the evening. He had a blood-alcohol content between .179 and .184 percent, more than twice the legal limit to operate a motor vehicle, police said.

Junge was taken into custody and faces charges of drunken driving, eluding, interference with official acts and a stop sign violation.
