Police Arrest One Suspect In Iowa City Shooting; Three Other Suspects Wanted

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- A Cedar Rapids man is in custody and three men are wanted in connection with last week's shooting in Iowa City.

According to the Iowa City Police Department, Devasier Jontees Cungtion, 20, of Cedar Rapids was arrested Friday in Cedar Rapids on Iowa City warrants for intimidation with a dangerous weapon and reckless use of a firearm. Both offenses are class C felonies.

Police said they have obtained warrants for Gage M. Rupp, 19, of Cedar Rapids; Travonte D. Hughes, 19, of Cedar Rapids; and Dimione J. Walker, 20, of Iowa City and more charges are possible as the investigation continues.

Rupp is wanted for intimidation with a dangerous weapon and reckless use of a firearm. Hughes and Walker are both wanted for intimidation with a dangerous weapon and assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor.

Police said a woman was seriously injured when more than a dozen shots were fired in an apartment building at the Pheasant Ridge Apartment Complex in the 2600 block of Bartelt Road at 11:50 p.m. The woman was inside the building when she was shot. Several vehicles were also hit, police said.

Additional details on the shooting have not yet been released. Anyone with information on the three men who are not in custody is asked to call Iowa City Area Crime Stoppers at 358-TIPS.
