Police Arrest Man Carrying Knives Near Kennedy High School
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Police arrested a man Wednesday for carrying knives near Cedar Rapids' Kennedy High School.
According to a news release, shortly after 9 a.m. neighbors notified police of a suspicious person in the parking lot of Oakland Church of the Nazarene at 3000 42nd Street NE.
Officers arrested Grant Ajango, 18, of Cedar Rapids and took him to the Linn County Jail. Carrying weapons is a serious misdemeanor.
Police said Ajango did not make any specific threats towards a person or group.
Authorities at Kennedy High School locked all exterior doors as a security precaution.
