Parkersburg Man Killed by Falling Tree

PARKERSBURG, Iowa (AP) — A Parkersburg man has died after being struck by a falling tree.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports that 49-year-old Mitchell Johnson died after being struck by the tree Saturday.

The Butler County Sheriff's Office has not yet released details of the accident.

Johnson's death was confirmed by Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home in Parkersburg, which is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Johnson was a volunteer firefighter with the Parkersburg Fire Department.
