Palo Moves Ahead With New Fire Station
PALO, Iowa - Palo city leaders are working to get a new fire station. Council members say they received a grant after the 2008 flood to build a new one. After bids came in too high, they put development on hold. Now, they're back at work to get that project underway.
"We don't have room to do proper training, so it will be nice to have a slightly larger fire station and one that is out of the flood zone," City Councilman, Trent Miller said.
The plan is to build the fire station just behind Palo's new city hall.
Council members say they'll pay for the $800,000 project with grant and city money.
