OXFORD JUNCTION, Iowa - A meeting in Cedar Rapids Friday was decades in the making. An eastern Iowa man met his 48-year-old daughter for the very first time.

Since she was 15, Tami Nunez of Las Vegas, had been asking her biological mother for information about her father. It wasn't until last December that Tami's mom opened up.

Nunez tracked down Sonny Clary of Oxford Junction, who, family members said, never knew Tami's mom was even pregnant.

Tami flew in and met her father in a Cedar Rapids hospital Friday afternoon.

"Unbelievable, is a good word for it. Unbelievable, it happened finally." Sonny said.

"Feels good. Feels like my journey is -- you know I got a new dad. I got a new family and I found my dad, he's my other half, you know?" said Tami.

She will spend the weekend with her dad, before flying back home on Monday. Tami said she plans to use her time getting to know him as much as possible.
