One Person Killed in Crash Near Central City

CENTRAL CITY, Iowa - An 82 year-old man has died in a traffic accident near Central City, authorities said.

Linn County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the crash site around 11:30 a.m., along the southbound lanes of Highway 13 south of Central City.

Cletus Brecht of Central City was hit by a semi-truck and his car veered off the road into a ditch. The semi was driven by Robert Lawrence from Delhi. Lawrence was uninjured.

Traffic was blocked for several hours.

The incident is still under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff's Office.
