DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say one person has been hospitalized after two personal watercraft collided on Saylorville Lake.

Polk County sheriff's Sgt. Rich Blaylock says the accident occurred before 5 p.m. Thursday near the bridge in the middle of the lake.

Polk City firefighters used a boat to pick up one of the drivers, who was taken to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. The other driver wasn't hurt.

The lake sits just northwest of Des Moines in central Iowa.
