One Injured After Driver Rolls Car off Highway 20 Exit Ramp

WATERLOO, Iowa - One man was taken to the University of Iowa hospitals and clinics after he was thrown from a car during a rollover crash. Waterloo police responded to the scene around 8:20 p.m. Sunday.

Officers say the driver of the car was driving eastbound on Highway 20 when they drove onto Exit 232B. While on the ramp, the driver lost control of the car and drove off the road. The car rolled down a steep embankment and stopped about 250 feet away.

A passenger in the car was thrown while the car was rolling. He was transported to the UIHC, his injuries are unknown. A child in the car and a driver were not hurt in the crash.

The names of the driver and two passengers have not been released. Police say no charges have been filed yet, as the crash is still under investigation.
