One Person Hurt in Cedar Rapids Burglary

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Cedar Rapids police department is investigating a burglary that happened in southeast Cedar Rapids Tuesday morning.

Officials responded to a burglary in progress in the 1600 block of 1st Avenue SE around 10:35 a.m. According to police, a male kicked in the door at the residence, and they have not confirmed if he had a weapon at the time. The adult female resident suffered minor injuries and is currently at St. Luke's Hospital, police said.

Officials on scene were "attempting to piece everything together," but nobody is in custody at this time.
