Northeast Iowa Authorities Find Man Dead in Home

NASHUA, Iowa - Authorities are investigating after a 70-year-old man's body was found Thursday afternoon in Nashua.

Carl Kenneth Gallmeyer, 70, was found deceased in his home around 2:50 p.m. after Chickasaw County Sheriff's dispatch received a request for a welfare check at 1091 240th Street. Investigators are unsure of the cause of death, but the State Medical Examiner has ruled the death a homicide.

The case remains under investigation by Chickasaw County Sheriff and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
