EVANSDALE, Iowa - Evansdale police said icy and snow conditions led to a crash that shut down multiple lanes of the I-380, US-20 and US-218 interchange last night.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports it happened just before 8:00 p.m. on the eastbound lanes between the Cedar River and the River Forest Road exit.

Police say a passenger car merging onto the road lost control, veered across all 3 lanes and hit a center concrete divider. They say a flatbed trailer *tried to avoid the car* but clipped it and spun it around. The flatbed driver then lost control and *hit a guardrail on the right side* of the road. The construction equipment on the trailer slid off and another car hit it.

Police say there were no serious injuries.

The crash shut down all but one eastbound lane while crews worked the crash scene.
