Motorcyclist Killed, Rider Injured in Collision in Tiffin

TIFFIN, Iowa – One person was killed and another was injured when the driver of a sport-utility vehicle turned into the path of an oncoming motorcycle in Tiffin, authorities said.
Around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, a motorcycle driven by Ryan K. Johnson, 20, of Tiffin, collided with an SUV driven by Elizabeth S. Colony, 23, of Iowa City, according to the Iowa State Patrol. Johnson died from his injuries.
According to the trooper’s accident report, Johnson was eastbound on Highway 6 when Colony, who was westbound, turned into the path of the motorcycle near Main Street. The motorcycle struck the passenger’s side of the SUV.
A second rider on the motorcycle, Hannah N. Tedell, 21, of Dixon, was taken by ambulance to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Information about her condition was not immediately available. Colony was not hurt, authorities said.
The case remains under investigation.
