DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - Preliminary data show more people are flying out of the Dubuque Regional Airport.

The Telegraph Herald reports 32,216 passengers boarded flights out of Dubuque last year. That is up about 3.65 percent from 2012.

Airport Manager Robert Grierson notes the numbers won't be officials until an audit by the Federal Aviation Administration this spring.

The apparent increase is a reversal from 2012, when the number of Dubuque passengers dropped by nearly 11 percent.

Grierson says the improved numbers are an indication that the area economy is improving.
