Authorities said Schwartz was intoxicated, but when police attempted to place him under arrest, he became violent and combative.

Schwartz is accused of kicking one officer in the head and punching another officer in the face with a closed fist. The officers suffered bruising and abrasions.

Authorities said Schwartz also attempted to undo the safety latch on one of the officers holsters, grabbed the handle of his firearm and also grabbed the handle of his Taser.

Schwartz faces charges of attempting to disarm a peace officer, two counts of assault on a peace officer causing injury, interference with official acts causing injury and public intoxication.
