By Ellen Kurt

MARION, Iowa - Miles for Smiles, a non-profit organization, gave a van to Rasheedah Cherelle Johnson and her family Monday evening at the Marion HyVee.

Every year HyVee, along with Marion Tire and the Salvation Army, pay for a vehicle, pay the vehicle's insurance and pack that that vehicle with essentials like food and gas cards.

The Salvation Army says it chose Johnson because of the way she turned her life around. Johnson is in school full-time, working and raising her daughter.

Watch as TV9 and Major Paul Logan presented the van to the unsuspecting Johnson.
