Mega Adoption Finding Animals Homes

By Adam Carros

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The world's largest mobile pet adoption program rolled into Cedar Rapids Saturday.

More than 50 dogs and cats ready to adopt were part of The North Shore Animal League's 2013 "Tour For Life".

The tour brings together *area shelters in one spot* to try to make it easier for people to adopt a pet. Tour organizers hope to show the benefits of shelter adoption by letting people interact with the dogs and cats.

"It just gives us access to go to different locations and get pets out to different areas where people don't really know there are pets available for adoption," said Daniel McNena with the North Shore Animal League.

Nearly a dozen dogs were adopted in Saturday. The clinic will be out again tomorrow at the Iowa Humane Alliance Spay and Neuter Clinic on 6th Street SW in Cedar Rapids from noon to 6:00 pm.
