Mason City Woman Accused Of Identity Theft, Other Crimes

MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) — A 32-year-old Mason City woman has been accused of misusing the name of her boyfriend's mother to obtain a credit card for a spending spree.

The Mason City Globe Gazette says Jacqueline Hollenbach is charged with three felonies, including identity theft. Cerro Gordo County Jail records said Hollenbach remained in custody on Thursday, pending $25,000 bail. Her attorney, Susan Flander, declined to comment.

Mason City Police Lt. Frank Stearns says Hollenbach obtained a credit card in the name of her boyfriend's mother and then charged more than $1,000 to make several purchases.

Hollenbach's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday in Cerro Gordo County District Court.
