MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (AP) — The Marshalltown School Board has approved the resignation of two teachers and agreed to pay them for the entire school year.

The Marshalltown Times-Republican reports high school teacher Mike Haigh and middle school teacher Janine Miller will be paid their full salaries until June 30.

The district isn't required to disclose why the teachers are on paid leave.

A telephone number for Miller had been disconnected and Haigh didn't return a message seeking comment.

Miller, a language arts teacher, was placed on leave in October 2012. Her annual salary is $65,003.

Haigh, a science teacher, began paid leave in August 2013. His annual salary is $60,197.

District human resources director Lisa Koester says the leaves and resignations aren't related.
