Marshall County Still Working on Courthouse Bell
MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (AP) - Marshall County supervisors are still waiting to learn what it may cost to get the bell ringing in the Marshall County courthouse again - and the clock ticking too.
The Times-Republican says one thing is for sure - it's more complicated that just flipping a switch. Staff is still investigating. The bell issue surfaced during a department heads meeting on Tuesday. There are also concerns that different clocks in the bell tower show different times. Building director Todd Kelley says wear and tear on the clock hands and gears are causing different times on different sides of the tower. Supervisors now want Kelley to look into the cost of repairing the clock as well. |
