MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (AP) — The director of buildings and grounds in Marshall County has been put on paid administrative leave for a week.

The Marshalltown Times-Republican says the county supervisors took the action following a closed session Tuesday for a performance review with the director, Todd Kelley.

Supervisors chairman Dave Thompson said he couldn't comment on the situation because it was a personnel matter. The newspaper says Kelley's management style and staff direction previously have been questioned by supervisors.

Kelley declined to comment other than to say the closed meeting was "a performance evaluation."

Kelley has worked 13 years for the county.
