Marion Furniture Store to Open Temporary Location Next Week
MARION, Iowa - The Iowa Warehouse Furniture and Sleep Center plans to re-open at a temporary location next week after a fire caused the store to close last week.
A spokesperson for Iowa Warehouse Furniture and Sleep Center says that owners plan to open the doors at 1418 Twixt Town Road in Marion next Tuesday. The temporary store is next to the current store.
The spokesperson says no items customers had already purchased were in the store at the time of the fire. The store is working to organize those purchases so they are ready to distribute after the re-opening. Customers waiting on orders can visit the store next week or call for more information regarding their purchases.
Workers are still trying to clean up the current furniture store as well as the new temporary location that suffered water damage. Several stores around the furniture store suffered damages, including Lemstone Parable Christian Stores.
Fire investigators determined arson as the cause of the fire that began sometime early Wednesday, March 27. At about 5 a.m. the Marion Fire Department arrived at the furniture store and spent hours trying to put out the flames. Police say the furniture store’s sprinkler system helped keep the fire from spreading.
