Evacuation Ends in Monona
MONONA, Iowa - A mandatory evacuation that included parts of downtown Monona has now ended after crews repaired a gas leak.
The Clayton County Sheriff's Office ordered the evacuation shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday in response to a major gas leak. The evacuation order covered a two block radius around Iowa Street and West Street.
MFL Mar-Mac Schools dismissed students at 12:15 p.m. due to the situation.
Officials allowed people to return to the area at 1 p.m.
