Man Charged in Washington House Fire
WASHINGTON, Iowa - A man is in custody following a Tuesday house fire in Washington.
Jonathan Beam, 53, of Washington, faces a 2nd Degree Arson change for setting the house on fire. The fire started Tuesday at 1:45 p.m. at 2180 Lexington Boulevard, directly across the street from the Washington County jail. No one was home at the time of the fire.
Beam was taken into custody by the Thayer County Sheriff’s Office in Hebron, Nebraska and is awaiting extradition. He's being held on a $20,000 bond.
