A deputy reports 35-year-old Troy Schoon of Atkins drove passed a marked patrol vehicle at high speeds. Schoon was heading east on U.S. Highway 30. When the deputy turned on his emergency lights and siren, Schoon drove through the median turning westbound on the highway. Schoon then lost control and rolled his vehicle at the intersection of Highway 30 and Linn-Benton Road. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The sheriff's office says the crash is still under investigation. Officials say Schoon was charged with Operating while intoxicated, driving while license under suspension, no proof of insurance, attempting to elude, speeding, failure to wear a seat belt, improper use or median and Careless driving.
