NEW HAMPTON, Iowa (AP) - A Fredericksburg man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for starting fires that damaged a lumberyard and a vehicle.

The Chickasaw County sheriff's office says 24-year-old Brandon Deetz was sentenced on charges of second-degree arson and second-degree theft on Tuesday.

Authorities say he was responsible for a June 2011 fire at Superior Building Center in Fredericksburg and for another nearby fire that damaged a vehicle. He was also charged with stealing a vehicle the morning of the fires.
