Man Found Dead After Explosion in Smithland
SMITHLAND, Iowa (AP) — Officials say a man was found dead after an explosion at an old service station in Smithland in western Iowa.
The explosion was reported around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Smithland Fire Chief Curt Larson says the man was found outside the office of the station. The man's name hasn't been released and officials don't know if the explosion caused his death. The fire gutted the building. The state fire marshal's office is helping with the investigation.
