HAMBURG, Iowa (AP) — Police say an Iowa man has died after he drove his pickup truck into the path of a train near the southwest Iowa city of Hamburg.

Omaha television station KETV reports emergency crews were called to a rail crossing north of Hamburg about noon Friday.

Authorities say a man in his mid-70s was driving across railroad tracks when a BNSF freight train crashed into the pickup, killing the driver.

Crews say there are no railroad crossing arms at the intersection.

The Iowa State Patrol is investigating the crash.
