Man Dies After on-the-job Accident in Fort Madison

FORT MADISON, Iowa (AP) — Fort Madison authorities say a 31-year-old Keokuk man has died in an accident at work.

Police Capt. Bruce Gustafson told The Hawk Eye of Burlington that Brian Stice was caught in an auger as he was cleaning the machine around 4 a.m. on Saturday.

The accident occurred at Pinnacle Foods. The company says it is helping authorities with their investigation.

An autopsy was scheduled.

Authorities say Stice had worked at Pinnacle Foods since September 2006.
