Man Dies After Severe Beating in Des Moines
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Des Moines police were questioning several people about the severe beating of a man who later died at a hospital.
Sgt. Jason Halifax says police were called just before 1 a.m. Sunday about an assault occurring at a parking lot near Wells Fargo Arena in downtown Des Moines.
They found a 40-year-old man who had been severely beaten.
He was taken to a hospital, where he died. He name wasn't released until relatives could be notified.
Several witnesses and a suspect were taken to police headquarters for interviews with detectives.
Police say this is the 10th homicide in Des Moines this year.
