Man Charged with Murder in Marshalltown

By Katie Stinson

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa - A Marshalltown murder suspect made his first court appearance this morning.

The Marshalltown Times Republican says 40-year-old Mathew Irving was surprised by the first degree murder charge against him, and told a judge he really didn't mean to kill Rebecca Hall. A Marshall County Sheriff's deputy found Hall's body in a mini-van on this stretch of road in Marshalltown Sunday morning.
