LINN COUNTY, Iowa — A Fairfax man was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Friday night after a motorcycle crash left him with life-threatening injuries.
According to the Linn County Sheriff’s office, 32 year old David James Reed Jr. was the only passenger on the motorcycle. Reed lost control of his motorcycle and left the roadway.
His motorcycle sat in a ditch on the side of southbound 80th Street SW as officials from the Linn County Sheriff’s office investigated the cause of the crash. The crash occurred north of Fairfax, south of Highway 30 at 9:53 p.m. on Friday.
Officials from Highway Patrol, Area Ambulance, the Fairfax Fire Department assisted the Sheriff’s office on the scene. The accident remain under investigation.
