IOWA CITY, Iowa - A man has been arrested on Friendly Avenue in Iowa City for allegedly threatening to kill a woman. Steven Keever, 26, was charged with second degree harassment Wednesday after he arrived at the victims home and "caused a scene."

Police say Keever started sending the woman a series of "profane and concerning electronic messages" on April 1st. In the messages Keever detailed how he would kill the woman according to a criminal complaint.

Police say Keever told the woman he would burn her home down by starting an electrical fire, which he believed would be difficult to investigate. The complaint says Keever also threatened to poison the woman so that she would die a "slow death."

No address is listed for Keever, who is known to frequent the pedestrian mall area in Iowa City. He remains in the Johnson County jail where he is being held on a $7,500 cash bond. The jail website also lists a charge of interference with official acts.
