DUBUQUE, Iowa - A two-year road construction project in Dubuque gets underway Monday.

The project includes re-building Highway 61 from the Grandview interchange to the Highway 52 intersection and replacing both bridges spanning Catfish Creek.

The Iowa D-O-T has laid out two phases for this project. The first includes closing the southbound lanes of Highway 61. That should happen around May 1st.

Three major road construction projects in Iowa City also get underway tomorrow. They're on Lower Muscatine Road, Rochester Avenue, and South Madison Street. Detours will affect the Iowa City transit schedule.
