Maintenance Leads to Ammonia Leak at John Deere Plant

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The Cedar Falls Fire Department responded around 10:15 p.m. on Thursday to the John Deere Product Engineering Center at 7525 Deere Road for a report of an ammonia leak.

Firefighters say workers evacuated after the leak started while performing maintenance. The spill was contained and cleaned up by 11:30.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the spill.
