DUBUQUE, Iowa - In September, a Loras College student will be making his way to Charlotte, North Carolina, for the Democratic National Convention.

Riley Kilburg, Bellevue, was chosen to represent Iowa's First Congressional District at the convention. He was the first delegate of 12 to be elected to go to the National Convention.

Kilburg has been interested in politics ever since the Presidential election that took place in 2004.

"I think that's really cool because when I was younger, I would stand and listen to these people and I would start shaking or getting the goose bumps when they came towards me," said Kilburg.

During the convention, Kilburg will listen to different speakers and vote on various platforms being discussed at the convention.
