Loras College Establishes Arnie Honkamp Scholarship

By Ellen Kurt

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Loras College in Dubuque has established a scholarship for accounting students in memory of one its prestigious graduates.

Arnold Honkamp graduated from Loras in 1962 with a degree in accounting. He was a founding partner of Honkamp Krueger, an accounting and business firm, as well as a founder of the Dubuque Greyhound Park and Casino.

A group of former Loras College Regents and their spouses established the Arnie Honkamp Memorial Scholarship for Accounting. They say it's for his dedication to Catholic education and to Loras College. The group hopes this scholarship will present a similar experience as Honkamp's to future accounting students.
