Local Students To Sing National Anthem for Biden Visit

BURLINGTON, Iowa (AP) - Five Burlington High School students will show off their singing talents Monday prior to Vice President Joe Biden's speech. Maija Bennett, Amy Carlson, Abbey Coleman, Jeremy Henman and Joe Russell have been selected to sing the national anthem.
Tanya Henman, BHS vocal music director, said Biden's representative met Friday with the students for security and clearance checks. The students also will meet Biden.
The event will begin at 3:20 p.m. Monday at the Port of Burlington. Doors will open for the event at 1 p.m. Tickets can be picked up after 10 a.m. today on a first-come, first-served basis at Organizing for America offices in Burlington, Fort Madison and Keokuk.
One person can pick up one ticket. If any are left, they'll be available after 10 a.m. Sunday. The OFA office in Burlington is located at 900 Osborn St. The Fort Madison office is at 827 Avenue H. The Keokuk office is at 401 Main St.
Tickets also will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Port of Burlington.
