Linn County Sheriff's Office Searching For Missing Inmate

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The Linn County Sheriff's Office is looking for a jail inmate who didn't return from work release.

According to the sheriff's office, 57-year-old Todd T. Thomassen was serving time for second-offense drunken driving and driving while barred. Thomassen was released from the jail at 2 p.m. Sunday as part of the work release program.

Police said Thomassen was scheduled to return at midnight, but never reported back to the jail.

Thomassen is a white man with brown hair, weighs 165 pounds and is about 5 feet 7 inches tall. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Linn County Sheriff's Office or Cedar Rapids Police Department.
