Linn County Sheriff Declares Tow Ban Until Further Notice

LINN COUNTY, Iowa - In a release sent around 11:30pm Thursday night, deputies with the Linn County Sheriff's Office declared a tow ban until further notice.

Officials put the ban in place due to what they described as "deteriorating conditions" on roadways. A tow ban means that only vehicles which pose an immediate danger to other motorists will be towed. All others will have to wait until deputies release the ban.

There was no timetable given for lifting the ban, but the release said the sheriff's office would continue to monitor weather conditions and send out a second release when the ban is lifted.
