Linn County Republicans Hold Pre-Caucus Rally

By Katie Stinson

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Linn County Republicans gathered Tuesday for an event to kick-off the party caucus.

The meeting and training session took place at the Longbranch Hotel and Convention Center in Cedar Rapids. Both participants and workers learned about the GOP caucus procedure. The Linn County Republican Chair says her focus is getting Republicans involved and voting.

"We've seen more enthusiasm this year than we've seen in decades in the mid-season caucus," Linn County Republican Party Chair Cindy Golding said.

This year all 86 Linn County precincts will caucus in one place, the downtown Double Tree Hotel. The Linn County Republican caucus is set for next Tuesday at 7 p.m.
