WATERLOO, Iowa - LifeServe Blood Center says its blood supply is running critically low.

The center provides blood products to more than 100 hospitals on Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota, and it urgently needs donations.

Poor road conditions, severe temperatures, and power outages forced LifeServe Blood Center to cancel mobile blood drives and donor center operations. It says it's lost more than 1,000 units of planned collections.

Donors can schedule appointments through LifeServe Blood Center's website or call 800-287-4903.
