CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – A sign of fall will begin patrolling Cedar Rapids streets on Monday with the start of leaf vacuum service.

The city’s leaf vacuum trucks will collect leaves curbside on regular garbage collection days through December 7.

Iowa City’s vacuum trucks will start its rounds on October 15 and is scheduled to stop November 20.

For leaf collection, both cities ask that you rake leaves in a long pile on the curb, but not into the street and avoid parking cars in front of the piles.
