Large Grass Fire Closes Great River Road in Clayton County
CLAYTON COUNTY, Iowa -- Firefighters in Clayton County worked to contain a brush fire Monday afternoon.
The fire was located in the 3700 block of Pleasant Avenue. The Clayton County Sheriff's Department said the brush fire spread into the nearby timber.
Several Fire Departments responded to the fire to extinguish the flames. A portion of the Great River Road had to be shut down due to the size of the fire.
Firefighters say it burned half an acre, but there wasn't any real damage.
