CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - More than 100 kids waited in line today to build with Legos at the Newbo City Market Sunday. The kids got up to 20 minutes to build before the picture was snapped -- and sent for appraisal.

Mrs. Iowa International, LaSheila Yates, will use those pictures to judge the kids' Lego creations. She will give out three special prizes the best and most creative mode of transportation. Yates has quite a few entries to judge.

"You know what, they're excited to be here. The line is very long so we got a great response to this event and certainly could do an even larger event next time around," said Norah Hammond of the Cedar Rapids Science Center.

Lego Education and Rockwell Collins helped to put on the event. The goal of the Lego build was to promote STEM education.
