Golding, Mathis to Participate in Senate 18 Forum

MARION, Iowa — The candidates for state Senate District 18 are scheduled to appear at a candidate forum at 7 p.m. tonight at Linn-Mar High School, 3111 10th St., Marion.

The forum, sponsored by The Gazette and KCRG-TV9, will air live on KCRG 9.2 and be streamed live on KCRG.com.

Liz Mathis, D-Robins, and Cindy Golding, R-Cedar Rapids, are vying to succeed Swati Dandekar.

The debate is taking place at the same time as a Linn-Mar High School football playoff game. Those attending the debate should park in the south lot of the high school and enter through Door 1. Football fans should park in the north lot.

Senate District 18 includes western and northern townships in Linn County, a large portion of Marion, and the cities of Fairfax, Palo, Hiawatha, Robins, Alburnett, Center Point, Central City, Walker, Coggon, Prairieburg and part of Walford.

Jon Tack of the Constitution Party is also on the ballot.
