Jury Finds Man Guilty in Sioux City Killing
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) - A jury has found a Sioux City man guilty of voluntary manslaughter in the 2012 shooting death of a woman.
The Sioux City Journal reports jurors returned the verdict Tuesday in the murder trial of 35-year-old Fernando Jaimes-Martinez. He was also found guilty of intimidation with a dangerous weapon.
Jaimes-Martinez was charged with first-degree murder. He is accused of firing a gun into a crowd during a fight with neighbors in September 2012. A gunshot killed 27-year-old Karla Gonzalez, also of Sioux City.
Jaimes-Martinez earlier rejected a plea deal for second-degree murder, but he did plead guilty to a gun charge.
